Jared and John-John dropped us off at the Groom's place in Macon. We left for Atlanta from there! Such an exciting day!
Whenever we finally got to Atlanta we were running on time, everything was going good... no lines with security, no nothing! However, Ms. Jill had a slight problem at security because her name is Julianna whereas her boarding pass said Jill. Sarah-Averill just about had a panic attack, but she finally got through security and we were on our way again! Little did we know this was just the beginning of our many set-backs! We boarded the plane, and sat, and sat....and sat... the plane finally started to roll in reverse and then we pulled back up to the gates, only to find our engine was leaking. NOT GOOD. So we had to board a different plane and were finally on our way... just 3 hours late!
We got into New York probably close to 2:30am but we were all so excited we had to go on a mini walk about. This is the closest Jenn and I got to the Statue of Liberty.

Our list of things to do and see was pretty long. China Town, Soho, Times Square, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, An extravagant Candy Store, Macy's, Ground Zero, meeting a real NY Fireman, and on and on and on. We got to do a lot on the list, however, that city is to big to accomplish everything in like 3 days!
This is Jenn and I on our first day. We ate at a small Italian restaurant that was AWESOME. Italian became a theme during the visit, we ate Italian I believe, 3 more times..plus pizza!
We got to see the Rockefeller Tree the night before they completely took it apart. It was so beautiful. There were people ice skating below and there had to of been millions of christmas lights on that tree. It was awesome to have actually seen it in person and not just on TV!
First Time being in Times Square... I was mesmerized by all the lights. There was so much to look at and to see that it couldn't all be taken in in one visit, we definitely made sure to go back during the night and day!
The Hershey's Store! That was the biggest hershey bar I have probably ever seen. New York had lots of places to get extremely oversized candies from.
Walls and walls and walls of M&M's. One of my favorite candies! I was in absolute heaven :) This store was so neat!
Times Square again
Random Mcdonald's sign I know, however I found it interesting that there was a Mickey D's on EVERY corner in New York. There's even one where the employees where tuxedos. I guess NY can get fat anytime anywhere!
I saw this truck in Time's Square. I just thought it was an awesome way to remember those who lost their lives saving others.
My brother wanted me to swap his Albany Fire Dept tshirt with one of the firefighters in NY. Who would have EVER thought a fire department would be so hard to find. I honestly think we looked at least once a day until we finally found one.
Ground Zero
Ground Zero
Ground Zero
Ground Zero was one of the places I was determined to go to. The magnitude of everything that happened on Sept 11, 2001 seemed to really unload on me the day we visited. I guess you truly don't understand the amount of lives lost until you see the names go on and on and on. The city is so busy but it seems like as soon as you step foot into Ground Zero the loudness of the city fades out. I'm not sure what exactly it is, but it's a cool, but eery feeling. Literally construction was going on where that crane was the day we were visiting, but I don't remember hearing anything but the peaceful waterfall.
I was so excited to visit this store, but it really wasn't what I thought it'd be!
This statue was in front of the Twin Towers and survived the collapse of the towers. It's damaged but is on display somewhere close to where the Statue of Liberty's ferry is at. Pretty Neat.
Playing on the big piano was so much fun. I felt like such a little kid! Definitely one of my favorite things we did!
So excited :)
This hotel was beautiful, had doors that were so tall that the knobs were like at my forehead. No joke.
Man oh man how I wish we could go back like tomorrow! It was definitely a trip I will never forget!
That's enough for tonight... thanks for walking down memory lane with me :)
Until Next Time! God Bless!
